The Lords and Ladies of Lismore is a highlight event every year on the NZDG calendar, and this year was no different, a fantastic event run by Martin and the Wanaka Disc Golf crew as is to be expected! This year we wanted to up the social media presence of the event complete with new logo and design language.
I was able to not only completely change the look and feel of the branding but run the social campaign that brought in a full field of 135 players, a great weekend of disc golf and a large number of views across the social posts.
For the look and feel of the brand I drew inspiration from funky 70’s design and came up with the custom logo typeface as well as a few supporting assets. This was done because of the very popular dress up and play double day on the Friday before the tournament where competitors get the chance to dress up and play in their costumes, funky 70’s is a classic dress up combo and one I wanted to illustrate in the whole brand.
This brand was also used on stickers, chalk bags, official course map and the winner trophies/plaques. This brand came together rather quickly and turned out better than I ever expected!
